Under What Circumstances Will The Fire Damper Close

May 20, 2024 Leave a message

Fire dampers will close in the following situations:
Temperature reaches the set value:
When the temperature of the flue gas in the pipeline reaches 70 ℃, the fire damper will close. This is because at this temperature, the temperature sensor inside the fire damper will sense changes in temperature, triggering the closing mechanism of the fire damper.
In another case, the smoke exhaust fire damper inside the fire exhaust duct will automatically fuse and close when the smoke temperature reaches 280 ℃. This higher temperature is to ensure that the valve can also automatically close when the fire is severe, to prevent further spread of the fire.
Automatic fire control:
When smoke detectors or temperature sensors detect a fire signal, the fire damper will automatically start and close to prevent smoke and flames from spreading through ventilation ducts.
Fire linkage control:
In the central control room of fire protection, smoke exhaust and fire dampers can be centrally managed through the fire linkage control system, and their opening and closing can be manually or automatically controlled. This control method provides more flexible operational options to meet the needs of different fire scenarios.
Power failure:
When the power supply of the smoke exhaust system fails, the fire damper should be able to automatically close to prevent safety risks caused by power interruption.
Manual operation:
In emergency situations, on-site personnel can manually operate the opening and closing of fire dampers. This operating method provides a backup means in case of automatic control system failure, ensuring that the fire damper can be closed in a timely manner when needed.
The closure of fire dampers is mainly based on temperature and fire signal detection, as well as fire linkage control and manual operation. Among them, temperature detection is the most common triggering condition, and by setting different temperature thresholds (such as 70 ℃ and 280 ℃), it can adapt to the needs of different fire scenarios. At the same time, fire linkage control and manual operation provide more flexible and reliable control methods, ensuring that fire dampers can be closed in a timely manner in the event of a fire, playing an important role in fire separation and preventing the spread of fire.
